The kids school does a nice send off for the 5th graders who are headed to middle school... I was happy to be part of the planning committee for this event and retire as a volunteer that night!
Tate had Mr. Maneno for 5th grade and he was a great fit for Tate
The last week of school is a ton of fun- one day they brought in a shaved ice truck for the 5th graders-
And of course there was field day! Tate, Joel and Alex-
School does not come easy to Tate. He has mild ADD, and would rather just play than ever go to school again. But that is not an option. So he goes. And he tries. And to maintain grades that show he is absorbing the material taught, he has to work 5 times harder than his peers. This isn't done independently though as his teachers help him, we help him.
Since he arrived at this school in 3rd grade, he has been on the honor roll- that's 12 consecutive semesters! And he's played sports, played the violin, been a boy scout, in chess club, on the robotics team and attended religious education too. He's a great friend and even better big brother.
He mades us so damn proud. Off to middle school... YIKES!
