The best birthday present ever just might be getting your braces off only a few days before your 15th birthday!
Sadly, we took the before picture, and never took an after picture! After 22 months in braces, we were just all so excited that we forgot. Oops. I guess all the pictures in the weeks, months and years to come will serve as the after pictures...
Tate's birthday fell the weekend before spring break- so we let him choose if he wanted to stay home to celebrate his birthday, or be in Bali. He chose Bali, so he got to open presents early at home on the night before we left!

A few gifts would arrive after his birthday, so his birthday seemed to keep going! And the sweet boy let his (sometimes annoying) sister help build one of the Lego sets he got almost immediately after opening it-
Oh Tate. You are amazing. Resilient and so emotionally well balanced. You don't worry, get angry or jealous. You LOVE video games, enjoy reading and like drawing. You could watch TV for hours and know so much Marvel trivia. You would live at the movie theater if you could, especially now after not being there for a year. You know how to do laundry, dishes, fry an egg and make macaroni and cheese. School is not your favorite, but being with your friends is. You are such a good friend- which goes back to being so emotionally well balanced I think. You are kind and non-competitive. I just can not wait to see where this next year goes for you and how much you grow. To think last year you weren't even shaving and next year you will be able to drive. Now that is just crazy talk. Honestly, I could ask for nothing more. I mean you are even a clean and tidy teenage boy! Lucky, lucky me. Love you Gooseman.
