Summer in USA- #6 California "Framily"

Welcome to Grandmommy's house-

Tate said he wanted to go to Madame Truseau's wax museum while we were in Australia, but we never made the time to do that. So Kristen made sure we got to the one in San Francisco and it was really cool-

Lunch stop at Boudoin's on Fisherman's Wharf for a sourdough clam chowder bread bowl-

Next up- Alcatraz-

I'd been to Alcatraz 20 something years ago and while the tour has slightly changed, it is still a very moving experience and I'm so glad the kids got to visit and learn so much about this history making place.

We visited San Fransisco State University while we were in town too. And as usual, I was just in awe of the blue skies-

We'd also visit San Jose State University while in Cali- which is Kristen's alma mater. It was the same day we were desperately trying to find covid tests for our flight and when Riley hilariously went bezerk in the car after too much caffeine!

When Tate & Macy visited in 2019, silly Tate passed up the opportunity to go driving with Granddaddy in his Ferrari. Not this year! Even Macy went for a spin-

He'd recently purchased a vintage Member's Only jacket (thanks to Sara & Ebay!) which was so perfect-

"But which car do I want to go in?"

Toughest decision of the summer! Off they go-

All the kids- to include Kristen's new stepkids Julia & Alex- gathered for a Magic Berry tasting party-

Kristen was so awesome to get It's It ice cream sandwhiches-

Group photo- with Brian!

Obligatory Godmother picture-

Kissy Bug returns-

Macy is officially taller than Grandmommy-

But still shorter than Tate!

This was our last night actually. We'd take these pictures, fall asleep and head to Korea!

Macy really bonded with Maggie this trip. Pretty sure they both got in trouble for sleeping together....

This is actually our first day-

We met up with Kristen & Fam (Lynn & Bob came in a second car to get our suitcases!) for lunch with Amra & Mick and then we were off to Kristen & Chris' cabin in Arnold up in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

We dropped the kids off at the lake for some fun together and we went wine tasting-

Obligatory height picture-

Auntie Kristen got Macy hooked on Butterfly Pea Flower tea-

4th of July fireworks-

Oops- back at the wax museum!

So thankful to have Kristen as my forever sister friend and her family as the family we choose to call our own!

And just like that- our 3 weeks in American were over and I was again back in an airport lounge waiting on a flight-

To South Korea! It is time! Shocking. But we are so ready. And this will be the easiest & simplest flight we've taken in a long time- direct from SFO to Seoul. 1 direct flight- that's it! Off we go... home.
