well, a few years ago lauren (who has no military ties) met a guy who was a navigator in the air force and reminded her of brian! well, happily ever after happened and they got married last year. because macy was only a few weeks old, we didnt travel back for the wedding. and because of jason's deployment schedule- we hadnt met him yet!
they are now living in omaha, nebraska so i was thrilled when we both looked at our calendars and were both going to be in cali at the same time! they were coming to san diego to run the marathon last weekend, so we decided to meet up in LA.
where should we go though? denny's is exciting for me, since we dont have them in germany- but not very vactation worthy for them. i dont know LA at all and it is a 3 hr drive, so with a little research (thanks google!) i found the saugus cafe- the famous saugus cafe.
Saugus Café is LA County's oldest continually operating restaurantand is legendary for its huge menu that focuses on breakfast- lots of food for dirt cheap prices- well, at LA standards! Opened in 1887 as the Saugus Eating House, it has served everyone from President Benjamin Harrison, to Clark Gable and Gary Cooper. the waitress told us that lots of movies and tv shows are filmed there now- most often diner scenes for CSI.
not a fancy place...
