spooky stuff!

brian was out of town halloween week, so me and the kids had a little fun...

tate was in charge of scooping out all of the "icky gooey guts" -yuck!
i changed up some of my "mrs. rockwell cookies" this year. she traditionally make the jack o' lantern ones- i thought spider webs and skeletons would be fun. i made over 100 this year and loved every second of it!

in an effort to get tate to eat- a skull pb&j to match his shirt!
we went trick-or-treating saturday night on base with our friends sean and (pregant) ashley- they were so sweet to have us for dinner and provide me with a few extra hands!
their costumes were just as cute from behind- with their big behinds!
off we go!
macy was the cutest darn chicken out there!
especially when she stopped randomly like this- we said she was laying an egg!
tate and his (small) bag of loot! (if his bag was big, it would have been disappointing that it didnt get filled to the top like this one! plus, when it was full- i said it was time to quit!)
i have only ever carved a very tradtional jack o' lantern face before- but tate said he wanted a skeleton this year... at first i was going to say no, especially since i dont really enjoy carving pumpkins and couldnt run out to target last minute for a skeleton stencil! but then i thought, what the heck, we have the time, i'll try it! i found a design that looked simple online and recreated it- and boy was i impressed with how it came out!
happy halloween!
halloween night we went to nick's 4th birthday party and had a blast! sara thought of everything to make this party fun for the kids- and adults!
the boys were both dragons this year- almost as cute as when they were fred and barney last year, right?
all the food was a spooky theme
even the wine! (thanks gill for sending these labels!)
tate enjoyed digging in the slime for eye balls!
and pinning the bone on the skeleton while blindfolded!
almost matching costumes for sara and me!
i promise that macy was at this party with us too- just didnt get any pics of her! OOPS! if you look at the pic above though, you can see her hand grabbing at my shirt for me to pick her up! (she was freaked out all night by the costumes...)
we had a great halloween and just wish brian didnt miss it again this year... now bring on thanksgiving!
