i love great ideas and i just want to share this one...
every few months i go on a mission to try to get my kids to eat healthier. this time around it is vegetables. i offer them, but macy just hates them. (refer to the picture on facebook for proof! instead of eating the edamame last night, she stuck the bean right up her nose! im still not sure how it happened with two parents at the dinner table with her. oh wait- we were probably telling tate to eat HIS veggies! anyway- luckily brian was home (or i would have headed to the ER). he grabbed his previously useless mini tweezers from his beloved swizz army knife (bought at the factory in switzeland) and managed to get the darn bean out of her nose in less than a minute!)
back to this great idea. a few years ago i bought the cookbook 'deceptively delicious' by jessica seinfeld. i loved the idea of hiding veggies in the food tate loved. but, i couldnt be bothered making all those darn purees. so the cookbook has been collecting dust... but NOT ANYMORE!
so simple- use baby food instead of making purees! the woman on-line who wrote this is a genious, huh? baby food is pretty cheap, preservative free and comes in many vegetable varieties, so why not use it and save yourself hours in the kitchen?
yesterday i made sweet potato muffins and guess who ate them this morning for breakfast? yup, tate AND macy! (brian and i arent crazy about them, but they are for the kids anyway!) now im off to make carrot and cheese ones...
