to my children:
remember the rainy day (or two!) when mommy didnt want to get dressed and drive tate to kindergarten? even if it was just a 6 minute drive- that would have been too much. a much better plan was to just stay home and play! (in just a few months, tate will be in american kindergarten and my decisions like these will be questioned by the truancy board!)
remember when mommy said, "go get dressed" and you chose to keep your pajama pants on, but added your watch, orange socks and superman shirt? (also, remember the simple days of playing with your puzzles and reading your books? you could (can) do it for hours!)
hey macy- even though you now like to sneak out of the house (pretend it is 2027 people! i know, kinda scary) there were days when you would try to climb back into your crib, believe it or not!)
remember the days that you loved wearing hats? you even had to eat dinner in this one and actually fought with me about wanting to sleep in your pink 'red socks' hat!
these really are the "good old days." they arent going to start when the kids are in school or out of the house. they are now.
i remember when i thought having just one child was tough. sure, it was- because i didnt know any different. and of course these days, i do think often that having 2 kids is tough. but if i had 4, i'd look back on these days with pleasure i bet!
so, someday when im fighting with the kids about doing their homework or being late for curfew, i will look back on these days and think- seriously, i thought that stage was tough?
but for now, macy is home sick with me (again!) and would like to cuddle. first, i need to change her poopy diaper and great, she just sneezed and has green slime running down her chin- just fabulous!
I really love this, Farrah. What a wonderful log of the things that will need remembering in the future.
