tate is amazing. yup- my blog, my place to brag!
he tested last week at reading at level of being in the 1st month of 3rd grade! crazy!!!
his teacher is challenging him by sending him home advanced books and setting a goal of taking at least 2 AR (the on-line, national Accelerated Reader testing program) tests per week.
he is incredibly accurate, however slow. and we need to watch out to make sure he knows the context which he is reading and the meaning of certain vocabulary words. most 1st graders just haven't been exposed to the stuff/words that 3rd graders have!
however on a sad note, tate hasn't been buying milk with his school lunch. when i asked him why today, he told me that it is nearly impossible for him to open the carton with his cast on, so he'd just rather go without a drink during lunch than take the time to ask a lunch aide for help.
my poor boy...
