A weekend to remember

This was our last normal/regular weekend we have left before we move, and we filled it with friends! 

Friday night Macy went to the Colgan football game with Katelyn and had a sleepover-

You can't tell because Macy has on her jacket, but the girls have on matching t-shirts and jean overalls! Before the game, the 5 girls were all on our trampoline and Madelyn landed on Katelyn's foot and she got hurt. How bad? We won't know until she sees the pediatric orthopedic doc on Wednesday...

Tate had his Friday night crew over, of course-

 He hadn't completed his supplemental math this week to earn his Friday night video game privileges, so the boys had a Stranger Things season 1 marathon- and no one complained! They plan to all be a Stranger Things character for Halloween together.

Friday the Melendez's came over for happy hour, which lead into dinner and game playing on the deck together- my favorite kind of night!

Saturday morning Macy had a baseball game, and she had quite the cheering section of friends there for her-

After rowing practice Brian took Tate to his first ever college football game!

Air Force vs Navy at Annapolis. Tate loved it. They went with Jose & Nico and Wayne, Blake & Anna. They tailgated before and after the game and had some amazing weather!

Saturday night Madelyn hosted the neighborhood girls sleepover-

Brian and Tate watched UT get crushed at home, and I had a girls night at Christine's! 

She makes the best Tostones- or fried plantains, and was willing to teach me! 

Andrea joined in on the cooking lesson too- 

They were amazing. My mouth is watering just looking at this picture-

Sadly, we were all so focused on the tostones, that we forgot about the other delicious nibbles that she had made us- 

It was a beautiful evening shared with friends, over champagne outside by the fire until 1am! I teared up at one point when it hit me that no everyone has these kinds of friendships. Sadly, I know my own mother did not... I am so grateful to have such strong women of faith in my life- and the fact that they are in my own zip code is such a bonus!


Sunday Brian had a regatta and Tate went to the movies without an adult for the very first time!

 I dropped him and Jonathan off to go see the rerelease of the original Ghostbusters, and as they walked away I thought wow, he's becoming more and more independent. Brian picked the boys up and they enjoyed themselves and their new found taste of freedom more than we know probably!
