Good-bye Elementary School!

June 5th was the kids official last day of school. They did it!

These kids are DONE! While they will have many more larger milestones to come, this school year should have ended with some pomp and circumstance for them both, as next year Macy moves on to middle school (yup, no more elementary schoolers for me!) and Tate will move on to high school.
They really overcame some crazy obstacles this year.... We went into the school year knowing it’d be wonky, but never expected all this! First quarter in Virginia, second & third quarter as the new kids in Jakarta, then 4th quarter evacuated back to the US (and separated from their dad) for online learning.
During this school year (just 9 months long) they had 4 different homes/bedrooms/beds. They visited 3 new countries- absorbing so many new lessons in geography & culture. They mastered the ability to make new friends and keep their old friends.
They may have missed out on some academic learning, but they learned a ton about life, resilience, adaptability and how to make lemonade.
Stay solid kids.
