Meet Ruby

The kids need a car. Mostly for their summer jobs. And without an afterschool sports bus, Macy needs rides home every day, and sometimes has meetings before school too. With 2 working parents, it was time for a car. 

Meet Ruby- 

We had a heck of a time finding her! We've been used car shopping for months. No winners. We finally narrowed it down to a Subaru- the run forever, good on gas, hold their value and are AWD, a plus for winter driving. 

Brian and Tate test drove this one and she was the winner. Not perfect at 10 years old, but within budget and hopefully safe & reliable. 

We picked her up in Hartford yesterday morning and the kids drove her home. I prayed the whole time they were following me. Having 2 new drivers at the same time is not good for the nerves! Macy has a couple more weeks until she gets her license...

I snapped the pic of them in the car above as we left to head home with her. And quickly upon getting home, they got to work polishing her up-

And look who wanted to go for a ride- 

Before we picked her up, I asked Tate about a name. He said he didn't care to weigh in on it, and deferred to Macy. After getting home, she quickly named her Ruby, because she is Ruby red. She also has a friend named Ruby, which is a fun coincidence for both of the girls.
