brian found out that he made 'the commanders list' yesterday! this is a very big accomplishment. it is a big deal to get nominated for it and even bigger to get selected and placed on this list!
it means that he is qualified to become a commander, or assistant commander first, of a squadron in the future. so this list has nothing to do with rank (he is still scheduled to become a lt. col. in nov), but hopefully with his next job.
60 names came out on the list- and there are 13 jobs to fill. so although he is excited about being on the list, he says he wont get really excited unless he gets one of those 13 jobs. our fingers are crossed until we hear something next year...
