gitty-up cowboy

if you know anything about us from this blog, it's that we dont unpack our luggage for too long! last weekend the kids and i drove to the wonderful state of north carolina to visit my aunt sandy and her husband steve on their beautiful farm. (fyi- brian is in school in florida now until june 30)

their home and property is picture perfect
since my aunt was a little girl, she always had a love for horses. one of the reasons why they relocated from new hampshire to north carolina 6 years ago was so that she could have a few horses. my aunt was VERY excited to teach the kids how to ride her (big) pony.
in the past when the opportunity arose, tate always declined riding horses so i was a bit concerned that my aunt would be crushed when he said he'd rather swim in her pool or chase fireflies. BUT-
 HE LOVED IT!

my grandmother and grandfather were also in town last week (from massachusetts), so this was a bonus to see them as well! here is tate, aunt sandy and my grandmother
day #2 tate got some read riding in! he learned some tricks and tips and again loved every second of the one-on-one instruction.

*notice- no pictures of macy with the horses... guess why? she was a wee bit scared of them of course.

thanks aunt sandy for breaking our future pocketbooks with this new very expensive hobby of horseback riding! we truly enjoyed our visit...
