football season is going great! i am loving the games- cool, crisp autumn air and we are done in less than an hour! practice however- 6:30-7:30pm twice a week! it's cold, dark and late! and the practices aren't helping. these kids are a mess each game day- it's hilarious!
the first week coach said he needed to players to go onto the field for the coin toss and the rest would sit on the bench. a few boys eagerly raised their hands and started shouting "I want to sit on the bench!"
they all headed over to the bench and get this- they sat on the bench backwards, so their backs were towards the field! it was too cute.
one coach- we have two (bless them!)- actually stays behind the players on the field and constantly tells them which way to run. i think that is his only job.
so far we have had 3 games- and they have all been a "tie." suspicious. needless to say, the kids are having a blast- but the eagles won't be headed to the playoff's this year!
cathryn was able to be at tate's first game and joined in the parents tunnel at the end of the game. (that's tate running through, he is #2- my favorite number so i was psyched when they assigned him that shirt!)
the team mom- nope, not me!- had all the kids names put on their shirts. they could choose whatever name they wanted- first or last. although one kid chose 'megatron."
macy likes to tease tate and cheer for the bears during his practices/games. maybe she is on to something!
