time to organize!

when it comes to moving, among other things, i have the best husband. he does not mind the unpacking (and decorating!) part. however, i am the one who is responsible for the fine tuning to make life in our new home livable...

well, it just seemed that this move we jumped into life a little too quickly and were hosting dinner guests (and then overnight guests!) before the fine tuning got done. 

so, last week i tackled a couple projects. the first- organizing the kitchen! when sara came to visit, she even noticed how crazy it all was and spent a few hours doing some organization of her own!

I've noticed our grocery bill seems to always be too high. finding many duplicate products seems to be the reason...

brown sugar anyone?

 there were 4 containers of salt, 4 bags of marshmallows and 4 bags of powdered sugar!  i also had the extreme pleasure of tossing out expired canned goods that were from 2009- older than macy! that means we not only moved them too Germany, but also moved them from Germany! crazy stuff.

i also needed a night- and a lot of space- to organize my recipes. i am the queen of tearing recipes out of magazines and saving them. to give myself a little credit, i do turn to these recipes so often. but i thought there MUST be a better way to organize them...

now, i am well organized and can find all my cookie recipes that call for brown sugar in a flash!
