sunday 4/29 was the perfect night for dinner in san francisco with my old college pal, kara. here's a quick blurb of our history- kara and i became fast friends when we were both interns our senior year of college at the department of social services in MA. we quickly became inseparable, as close as sisters and for a while, thought we could take on the world- as long as we had each other. (we were cagney and lacey!) years went by and our friendship just continued to grow. lots of late nights, stupid boys, cross country moves (ME!), tears and laughs...
crazy that it has been 8 years since we last saw each other! i was thrilled that she was coming to vacation through california on a road trip with her friend and my old co-worker, Jamie. i met them at the ferry building in SF for drinks and dinner- and hours of laughs!
random picture- but i think credit card parking meters are GENIUS!
here's my girl, just like i remember her!me, kara and jamie
oh the memories we have together-
kara sent me a text after i got home from dinner and she wrote "so much changes and so much stays the same" and i honestly could not have said it better. it's like she stole the words right out of my mouth. our lives have gone very different ways and we are certainly different people than we were when we met in 1998, but i sure am glad we have 'the good old days' together.
if only we had enough time fore another bottle of wine and a couple more hours to laugh at old stories! i really did have a few good belly laughs that night. because we are always moving, it seems that i have the opportunity to re-connect with old friends so often. however, most of the time, they are old AF friends which are actually my new friends. i enjoyed my time with Kara so much because i think i enjoyed spending time with someone who knew the old me- before marriage, kids, the Af, etc...
here's to seeing each other in another 8 years, kara!
