We decided to head to Napa the day after Christmas and avoid the massive crowds at the mall! It was such a great decision... And Aaron, only 19, was willing to stay back with the kids.
The first place we went was my new fav, Artessa, to show Gill and George the amazing views-
We had lunch outside at Gott's (the weather was unbelievable the whole 3 weeks they were with us!)
And then we headed to sweet little Elizabeth Spencer-
The following day, 12/27, Brian loaded everyone up and headed to the coast to see Muir Woods and have lunch in Point Reyes Station. (I stayed back and put Christmas away...)
Aaron really wanted to see some big trees on this trip he got his wish this day!
Saturday 12/28, we again left Uncle Aaron in charge at home, and headed off to the Budweiser brewery here in Fairfield. They have several tours you can take and while I had previously taken 2 of them, Brian has never even been! So we decided to take his parents on the Brewmaster Tour, which is the most extensive, lengthy, behind the scenes tour that they offer.
Off we go!
This is where the brewmasters control it all- it was SO overwhelming!
The famous "beechwood" that Budweiser is known for-
We all learned that this wood does nothing for the flavor of the beer, but is actually used for the carbonation process! Who knew?
The highlight of the 90 minute tour was definitely going into the tank room- which was 38 degrees- and sampling Budweiser and Shocktop right out of the tanks!
The tour guide filled up George's glass for him-
But Gill and Brian jumped right in themselves-
Cheers!
