Last month we had the awesome experience of attending an event for base commanders at the Jelly Belly Company, hosted by the owner Herm Rowland. Afterwards, we happened to be walking out at the same time as Mr. Rowland and he started up conversation with us and spent a lot of time giving us a tour of his memorabilia of President Reagan-

Recently the base hosted an event for kids to understand what it is like for their parents to deploy and we took the kids. Here they are waiting inline to get their orders-

It was an awesome event and I am so glad we did it with the kids!

On April 24 Brian's squadron participated in national "Take Your Kids to Work Day"-

I was thrilled to drop them off for the morning! It was conveniently over spring break week too...

They were allowed to bring scooters- 

A little physical training for the wee ones-

And delicious lunch at the chow hall with daddy-

A few weeks ago the squadron went on a camp out... Macy and I opted to stay home, but Tate and Brian went and had a blast-

It quickly turned into a hunting trip-

Instead of  a tent, they slept in the back of the jeep because of some rain-

We were happy to attend our 3rd year of the Travis Officer's Spouses Club Scholarship Auction-

It was a super fun night and we made some great purchases to help fund some scholarships!

Travis AFB was host to an air show earlier this month. The Thunderbirds came to town and the kids had the best view of the practice show from Brian's office window-

Tate was exhausted from a sleepover the night before, so he and I stayed home to allow him a quick nap and we were going meet Brian there. He went ahead with our neighbor Jeff and his kids-

Sadly, Tate and I never made it to the air show because as we were getting ready to leave, Brian called to say that a plane had just crashed and the air show was immediately canceled. For three days I had been praying for all the personnel involved in making this air show a success. You hear about plane crashes happening at air shows on the news, but you NEVER think it will happen at your base.
