Macy's birthday celebration started off on Friday school lunch-
Notice she is the only one not looking, as she turned around because she thought someone was giving her bunny ears!
She had some leftover Oreos and got special permission to stay back for a few minutes while her classmates returned to the classroom, because Tate's class comes in immediately after hers and she wanted to pass out her cookies to him and his friends. She was so excited to be able to do this (they are big 4th graders after all...) and was anxiously awaiting their arrival-
Macy wanted a very low key birthday party this year. I could have told her that they sky was the limit and I dont think she would have changed her mind. She wanted her two first grade friends, Hannah and Katelyn, to go swimming, sleepover and to a play place. Sure kid!
Sunday afternoon we began, as the raindrops started falling at the pool. No worries, though as swimming in the rain turned out to be a blast!
She got to open her friends gifts Sunday night, and had an ice cream cake.
Monday morning, her actual birthday, they couldn't wait to open the pile of presents she had! But mostly, they were all curious about the biggest one...
A pogo stick from my dad-
A surprise from Ms. Sara-
A very thoughtful one indeed! Sara (ski instructor and friend extraordinaire) spent almost an entire day skiing with Macy this winter. She sent Macy a t-shirt from the slopes, and the picture is of a moose (macy's nickname) on the chair lift.
Because Macy's birthday fell on a holiday and there was no school, her classmates wrote her notes to celebrate her birthday-
Mid-morning we took the birthday girl to The Beehive play place-
And then she requested Red Robin for her birthday lunch-
After we dropped the girls off, we came home to find that Brian and Tate had been busy installing the new zipline in the backyard for Macy!
And she quickly mastered the pogo stick. Thank goodness the base comes off and it converts into a real pogo stick!
Macy wanted to go to the pool that afternoon, so off we went for some waterslide action. tate-
By the time we got home, I was wiped out. Birthday/Memorial Day weekend had me beat. Brian and I sat in our chairs and watched the kids play...
When I told them it was time to go in to get ready for bed, Macy complained that she hadn't had birthday cake yet today. I quickly remembered there was left over ice cream cake from the night before. Mom of the year (yup, that's me) then instructed her to go get her own cake, a fork and come outside to eat her cake. Straight out of the box, while sitting in the driveway. And she had to share with her brother.
Easiest kids ever-
Tuesday she wanted to wear her new outfit from Auntie Cathryn to school-
Wednesday she wore Ms. Sara's shirt, and come home to a pile of presents from Auntie Kristen and Grandmommy-
Oh Macy. You are unbelievable. Easy to love, laugh with, and get annoyed by- sometimes all within 5 minutes. You have a love for learning, a big caring heart and are super strong and energetic. You are the daughter I always wished for. (So far.) Hope your 7th year is fantastic kiddo.
