Our kids have been to Lake Tahoe with Kristen & family many times- but they don't remember it. So when Lynn/Grandmommy heard that- she was on a mission to make sure we got there this summer! "It's good to be us!'
First up- mini golfing at a family favorite place in Kings Beach. This was the sweetest mini golf course I have ever, ever seen. Built by 2 brothers in 1957 to entertain their children while on summer vacations at the lake, nothing has changed! It is so simple and charming.
Lynn has golfed here every summer since it opened- except for 2 years!
Tate got the 1st hole in 1-
And the second-
Lynn got one too!
Next up was Truckee Summer Nights- a giant outdoor street festival each Thursday night.
We all tried a go at the highway patrol's Beer Goggles. The goal is to walk straight ahead on this red line-
I failed-
Just another reminder not to drink and drive kids!
Good morning! The view from the Roth's is one of my absolute favorites-
Lynn planned a fun new adventure for us all today. A hike up to Angora Lakes Resort-
I'll never stop giving Wes the "kissy bug!"
The two lakes were named after the Angora goats that once grazed in the area. The resort's rustic cabins have been around since the 1920s and fill up each summer almost immediately when reservations open. The resort's very simple amenities are located on rugged terrain, about half a mile above the parking lot.
This place was so dreamy! It felt like we were back in the 50's!
They serve the most simple food too- egg salad sandwiches and pitchers of fresh squeezed lemonade. The big surprise was IT's IT ice cream sandwiches!
Cheers Dears/Dirty Ears!
Okay, it was SOOOOO cold on the boat. Do not believe Brian in teh picture above. THIS is how cold it was-
The Dixie paddleboat that almost killed Macy and I when she was just 2 years old-
With the cold wind and water splashes, Macy found a genius way to stay warm and dry-
We of course had to stop in for lunch at Sunnyside. Never too old to color on the kids menu!
Dreaming and drooling over all the boats-
I was so delighted to take a nap on the deck-
Here comes sunset-

After dinner Wes and Macy wanted to go down to the lake for a sunset swim-
The house looked so gorgeous upon our return-
Time to say goodbye to Bob & Lynn. Already? SO SAD! There's just never enough time with them.
Before meeting up with Kristen and Chris back at their house, we wanted to take the kids out to breakfast at Fire Sign Cafe, where we first went 21 years ago on our honeymoon!
It's always worth the longgggg wait!
