esslingen christmas market

the christmas market in the city of esslingen has a medieval theme to it- it was so unique!

(this picture is from our frustrating experience trying to buy a christmas tree here in germany! first, the christmas tree lots are few and far inbetween- so just finding one is a challenge. and finding one open on a sunday is RARE- but we did! however, they dont take credit cards, of course. so we had to drive around for nearly 20 minutes searching for an ATM. and trees are expensive here! most look very charlie brown-ish and are about $50! anyway- we picked out our tree, didnt argue (too much) about it and the snow was falling which made it wonderful!)

okay- onto the festival.... this picture is for kristen and lynn- you would have loved this giant "pyramid" built ontop of a food booth roof top!
we went with the leadbetters- our festival pals. macy and shane were bundled up in their strollers for this picture- and i think sara may have just taken a big gulp of warm gluwein!
some of the vendors, actually making what they were selling...
tate wasnt too sure about this knight.
the beautiful city of esslingen

making a horse shoe! it was so cold, i wanted to jump in that fire!
check out these huge pans they were cooking with!
