esslingen wine walk

last sunday, our fun group of friends met up for the annual Essligen Wein Wanderweg. this is a day spent walking through the vineyards of a nearby city (essligen) and sampling their wines and ate delcious food.

two years ago i was a week away from having macy, so i did not go. then last year we were back in the states, so i missed it again. in january i vowed not to leave germany until after may 15th so that i could finally go on the wine walk!

it was a sunny day and there were lots of people
but here are the two cutest! HA!

the setting of this winewalk was so unique- because the vineyards are all on steep hillside, set above the city- as you can see in the picture above.

each winemaker would stamp your "passport" as you purchased a glass of wine. these were by far the cutest junior winemakers there! and dressed in traditional dirndl and liderhosen, of course!

poor sara, 6 months pregnant so no wine for you!
oh wait- it's not that bad! (laughing here with kelly)
lundy says: fill 'er up, please! as you can see here, wayne was wearing a baby carrier for his infant son, blake. however, when blake was being held by mommy, wayne would carry a bottle of wine in the infant carrier! it was hillarious.
some of the guys...
the tiniest grapes i had ever seen
me, sara and kelly with the city of essligen behind us

diane, sara, me, natalie and kelly finishing off a great day!
