Seeing the Spurs- for real!

Tate played basketball for the Spurs this year. So when I saw on 'groupon' that they were coming to Sacramento to play the Kings, i couldn't resist  suggesting to Brian that he take Tate to the game and Brian was happy to do so! (oddly enough, the only NBA game Brian had been to previously was to see the Spurs!)

Brian didn't tell Tate in advance and came home early from work to surprise him! The game started at 7pm, so it would be a late night with a 40 minute drive each way.

Tate, wearing his own Spurs jersey, with his tickets-
(printing out a groupon ticket isn't nearly as cool as the 'old school' tickets! )

brian was so excited to get there early- they were VERY early!
tate was thrilled that his seat was #6, his age and favorite number!

they filled up on game food too-
i suspected that brian might allow tate to have a soda, but it was lemonade in his cup!

because they got there so early, they were allowed on the court to watch the players practice! brian actually brought his own Sharpie in case this happened, but they never were able to get any players signatures.

the view from their seats-

 tate at half time-
after half time, brian said tate lost interest... (it was almost 2 hours past bedtime too!) so here is how he finished off the rest of the game- using Brian's iPhone!

they left during the 3rd quarter, making sure the Spurs had a good enough lead to win! i think both brian and tate had an incredible night. but, no need to do it again for a few more years- until the iPhone isn't necessary!

meanwhile- it was a mommy and macy night at home! macy helped me do some baking-
and was so excited that she got to lick both beaters and didn't have to share one with tate!
let me tell you what i was making... i tried a couple new desserts from that darn pinterest.com recently. (oh i love it, but it just makes me spend money and eat crappy whenever i visit that website....)

anyway. chubby hubby bars- www.cookiesandcups.com
chocolate chip cookie dough truffles- www.eat-drink-smile.com

both are fantastic and easy- i promise

our yard is full of roses right now- thank you former tenants! and pinterest inspired me to get creative and stop using my ugly glass vases-

and for tate's teachers- mason jars with plastic letters in the bottom!
