Random kid stuff

Macy got invited to her first birthday party by a friend from school! Here she is with the birthday boy, and #1 reader in the class, Gabriel- 

BTW, in the last 2.5 months, Tate has been invited to 6 birthday parties! I bought this marshmallow gun at a craft fair last fall for our kids-

And asked Brian if he could recreate it, to become the gift Tate could give at all the bday parties he gets invited to. Of course he could! It's just some PVC pipe and duct tape. Coupled with a bag of marshmallows, it's become a fantastic gift to give away!

Our house has been soon dry, and static-y, this winter. Makes for some fun hair styles for Macy-

Second quarter in a row that Tate made the honor roll!!! We couldn't be more proud. First quarter he had straight B's. Last quarter he had 1 B, and the rest were all A's!

Tate has worked his butt off to earn those grades too. He is constantly doing extra work at home with us, specifically math. In order to help him out some, we decided to put him in tutoring once a week with another 3rd grade tutor at his school. It has been wonderful. He seems more confident about completing his math and needs less help in class now according to his teacher.

I SURE HOPE SO!!!

Each week at dance, a student is chosen to be "dancer of the day" and gets to choose a special costume and tiara to wear, and have 2 friends be on her court. While Macy was not discouraged that she hadn't yet been picked, since September, she was thrilled when it was finally her turn 2 weeks ago!

The kids school paired up with a local tae kwon do school to offer a month of after school classes for just a donation to the elementary school. Macy was all over it. They had a ceremony at the end of the month and she was chosen to demonstrate to everyone the 10 moves they learned- she did great! Here she is with her white belt that she earned-

After 2 snow days in a row, we decided to take the kids to an indoor pool for a little swimming. The best part is the inflatable obstacle course (think of the tv show Wipe-Out) in the pool! Here is Tate trying to cross the "log"-

They also have some huge inflatable bouce houses too. This may be the biggest one that I have ever seen. Check out Macy at the top of the climbing ladder, in the middle of the two slides-
