When we woke up on Tuesday morning, I was still in awe of our amazing day at Magic Kingdom the day before- and SOOOOO very thankful that we did not have a park to go to today! The guys suggested we all go out to breakfast. Sara and I looked at each other and thought they were nuts. We had zero interest in getting dressed, and lugging the kids to a restaurant when we could just have a lazy morning and enjoy breakfast in the condo. So we encouraged the guys to go out to breakfast together, an idea which they loved and quickly took advantage of!
After breakfast Sara and I headed to the pool with the kids and we couldn't have been any happier. Until our friend Ashley and her son Peter showed up! We were all stationed in Germany together. Ashley is now living in Georgia and her husband is deployed. When she found out we'd be just 3 hours away, she decided to book a room and come hang out with us for a couple days.
The guys came back from breakfast and hung with us all at the pool for awhile, until they headed out again to go golfing-
After lunch at the pool, and the three of us moms getting told by the teenage lifeguard boy to please hide the 6 pack of beer that we had with us (OOPS!), we went up to the rooms to get ready to head down to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) for dinner. After golf, the guys planned to meet us down there. The kids played a board game and had some much coveted tv time while we girls enjoyed a bottle of wine and all got ready together- priceless memories right there. Girl time is just precious.
Once we got to Downtown Disney, Brian and Chris thoughtfully grabbed the 6 kids from us, and sent us over to a very cool outdoor bar where they had just been, so we could enjoy some non-kid time together. And that we did!
This was the bar-
While we enjoyed our wine, the guys took all the kids to the Lego store-
We had planned to meet up with Sara's sister and her family for dinner at the T-Rex Experience restaurant. We'd had reservations for months, and thought it'd be so fun for the kids. Ashley decided to skip it, and she and Peter headed to the hotel for an early night...
When Sara and I rounded the corner and walked up to the restaurant, it was a mad house! Chris was trying his best to entertain 7 kids-

While Brian and Sara's brother-in-law waited in a long line to check-in for our reservation...
When we finally got seated, a lengthy time after our reservation time and nowhere near Sara's sister's family, we got the worst table ever-
It was right under the obnoxious, true to life size dinosaur that made loud noises every 15 minutes and we were practically sitting in the lobby/souvenir shop. UGH! Brian's face says it all in this photo-
They are faking, they hated it too-
The fact is that our kids don't need this crap. We don't have loud obnoxious kids who's noises need to be drowned out by dinosaurs roaring constantly. We don't have kids that ever get bored, so they don't need the constant distractions and over stimulation that this place provides. As we looked over at our kids several times, they were just enjoying each other, talking and occupying themselves. They could have cared less after the dinosaur roared the first time! We all agreed we should have gone to the cool bar where we had all had the drinks earlier... Oh well.
One highlight of the night was our waiter, he was fantastic. The kids meals were delayed (we hadn't even noticed) so he had the manager come apologize to us (I was wishing that he was apologizing for seating us in the crappy section and would graciously comp all our meals. No luck), and he would later send out two of these giant, smoking desserts-
And then we went home, saying "what were we thinking?"
