We had so much fun cheering on Steven this spring! As you see above, Macy chose to dress like him for Sports Day at school- as did her teacher and another 4th grade teacher too-
At the beginning of the school year, Macy told Mrs. Akremi that she had a cousin who played in the MLB. Mrs. Akremi came up with the idea for him to be penpals with their class- and he said yes! Single Miss McGrail heard about this, goggled the heck out of him and quickly developed a crush on him. Boy could she make Macy blush when she talked about how someday she hoped to be in our family after marrying Steven.
Go #43!
Cheering him on in our livingroom-

I absolutely can attribute Macy's wanting to play baseball- and absolutely NOT softball- to the fact that she ADORES Steven. He definitely inspired her to want to give this sport a try...
Long story short- I was able to get her the LAST spot in her age division! Having never played before- no t-ball, no coach pitch, nothing. Here she comes Single A. She would be playing with kids who may already have 4 years of baseball behind them. She did not care. And as it turns out, she was the only girl in her division. Which she loved.
Let's go Detroit Tigers!

Notice the pink cleats? More on her season to come again soon....
On Sunday April 14 we went into the city to see Steven play! A little fun on the metro-
Amazing all the Pirate yellow we could come up with!
And look who we ran into-
Mrs. Akremi! Macy was mortified (in a good way) that she had made a sign...
A little time with Steven before the game so he could sign balls that the kids friends had brought over to the house for him to sign!
That's Steven's godmother- she too lives in DC
And he signed the kids hats too!
Yes, Mrs. Akremi we want you in our family picture!
Macy had used her own money this spring to buy his jersey and loved all the comments that she got about it at the game-
One family seated close to us told us how much they liked Steven as a player, and it was fun to be able to share with them how much we like him as a person!
One treat- cotton candy of course
While Tate went with Dippin' Dots-
After the game we go to meet Mrs. Akremi's parents who were visiting from Montana for spring break and we were all a little surprised that Macy was taller than her mom!
He was playing MLB 2019 and chose to be Steven! I had to quickly reach out to Steven and congratulate him for making it into a video game! As a huge gamer himself, it was quite the milestone in his career!
On Steven's birthday the kids made him cards and Mrs. Akremi made "Brownies for Brault" to celebrate the penpal's birthday
