Crew Camp

Okay Tate,  time for a new sport.. how about rowing crew? Okay he said! So he's off to crew camp the first week of summer. It's was just 3 hours each morning at our local marina and guess what? HE LIKED IT!

On Friday they had a regatta that I got to go watch- he was on the blue team-

They came in second place. Or maybe 3rd. Whatever. HE LIKED IT!

That week Macy also went to a day camp at a local school called Camp Invention. She went with her friend Brooke and both girls said after day one that it was pretty crummy. Which is so surprising for Macy as she can usually tolerate- and find good- in almost everything. But she wasn't impressed. Thankfully both girls qualified for a military kid scholarship to this camp with would have otherwise been over $200 for the week, so when Brooke's mom suggested both girls skip camp on Friday and she'd take them to the waterpark instead- I said yes!

They met up with Hannah and Jessica there too, and it turned out to be a much better way to end the week instead of being back at the crummy camp!

And I'm happy to report that after his week of camp, Tate wants to do the fall novice rowing program- 4 days a week, 2 hours a day for 8 weeks! Like father, like son...
