Happy New Year

Our neighborhood hosted a wheelbarrow party on New Years Eve- and boy was it cold!

Somehow, I made it until after midnight!

I had read that a new years day tradition in Korea was for families to go watch the sunrise together. So I convinced my family to get in the car at 5am and drive to a local lake to watch the sun come up-

Notice the red glow on our faces above? Well, apparently everyone else was headed to the lake too-

Who knew? Apparently people actually get there before midnight to ring in the new year and stay for sunrise. Oops.

We were in traffic for quite a while and it was getting lighter and lighter outside-

But still the red glow from the traffic ahead of us! So we decided to abort and head home. And as we were driving home over the lake- no visible sunshine anyway-

This was Sparky's first time going for a ride (besides the vet) with us-

We've got some car etiquette to work on with him, but the kids loved having him with them.

Our church had a fun photo op-

Okay then, here is is- 2023! Wow. How does this keep happening?
