Skiing in Korea

 

Just a 3 hour drive to Pyeongchang, home of the 2018 Winter Olympics, for our first time skiing/snowboarding in South Korea this weekend.

We tried out two mountains- Yongpyong & Alpensia. Snow started falling a couple hours after we arrived and never stopped coming down for the 2 days we were there, which made it so perfect!

South Korea is 70% mountainous, and while it gets very cold in the winter, there typically isn’t a lot of snow so ski resorts rely on man made snow mostly. We felt very lucky to have so much fresh snow for our first time out on the slopes here!

Fun times! Day 1 at Yangpyang, night time at Alpensia. Then Brian and the kids went back out to Alpensia (where we stayed) for 1/2 day and I got to take a snowy walk around the resort. Win win for all.
