Ever wonder where the rice we eat gets its start?
This morning I had the pleasure of accompanying Macy and her friends on a 12 mile bike ride to kick off my mother's day weekend. We went down some “farm roads” and ended up seeing farmers and tractors in action getting their rice planted in the fields.
So much work goes into every teeny tiny inexpensive grain of rice which I certainly too often take for granted- so thank you farmers!
Korea makes biking so easy here with paths like this along the water-
The ride was with scouts, as the kids are working on their biking merit badge. But my crew are avid bike riders and pretty good navigators, so we did our own thing. Bella, Owen, Macy, Ella-
Loved riding through the rice fields being planted-
Not your typical tractor-
These tall, thin, frail rice plants must be grown in greenhouses until they are strong enough to be planted-
The bike ride was to Bee & Honey Cafe- where they have the most adorable bee keeper photo op that i made the kids pose for-
Why Macy, way?
