reunion in nashville

last week we drove over to nashville to see two great "old" friends of mine- marnie, whom i worked with/for in arkansas and kyla, whom i became fast friends with when we both lived in california and our husbands were in school together there...

day 1: 3 moms, 1 dad and 8 kids to the nashville zoo

of course the kids found the catepillar more interesting than the zoo animals!
all 8 kids! of course, neither of mine are looking!

my little helper, mckenzie. mckenzie was 3 years old when i met her and i adored her then and still do- she is 7 now.

the girls! kyla on the left (mom of charlie and garrett) and marnie on the right (mom of chloe, morgan, mckenzie and taylor- yup, 4 girls!)
charlie LOVED macy and wouldnt let go when he was giving her a hug good-bye!

day 2: slow start morning, shopping at the mall, lunch at the rainforest cafe, afternoon swimming at the hotel and pajama party/movie night
here are marnie and i enjoying a well deserved adult beverage together- usually one of us is pregnant when we are together!

14 months ago we took this exact picture in dec 2008 before i moved to california when we met in nashville then- although macy wasnt in that picture, she was just in my belly!

day 3: the monkey's tree house. this is an incredible "indoor playground" that marnie and i found when we were in nashville in dec 2008. well, last month gwenyth paltrow also found it and was there with her kids and has now featured it on her website/blog- which is pretty cool- check it out if you havent already at http://www.goop.com/

we came at the perfect time- lunch/naptime so we almost had the entire place to ourselves! here are all 6 of our kids!
i love this picture of my happy macy!

at morgan's first birthday party, she and tate were both sitting together and morgan spontaniously turned and kissed tate on the cheek. the amazing part is that i caught it on camera! so, she will forever be his first girlfriend... here they are 3 years later!

macy wasnt so sure about how to get down from getting up!
i love my kids!

we were sad to say good-bye again to all of our friends... but, thanks to the air force, we will probably be traveling through again someday soon!
