we made it!

i feel like a true military spouse now that i have flown in the back of a C-17, which is a large cargo plane. not to be confused with brian's plane, a C-130, also a large cargo plane, but smaller than a C-17 and i is a prop plane...

yesterday morning we didnt know were we would end up at the end of the day- kind of exciting, kind of anxiety provoking. but at the end of the day- we were estatic and in charleston, sc! we got on the first plane available, which we were told almost never happens... and it was a direct flight too.

the plane was huge- which is perfect when traveling with kids. a little loud and a little cold- but nothing to complain about. there were about 50 of us on the flight- some single soldiers, some families and some retirees. there was some cargo on the plane- two pieces of special forces equiptment- which made me a bit nervous, but as i sat there looking at it all- i was in awe.

knowing that i was going to the states, made me want to cry. then seeing flight crew and knowing they were returning from the desert- made me want to cry too. guess what- when we touched down- i did cry!

here are some pics...

after take off.
macy did not like the ear pluds!
tate taking a nap, with all the men!

macy crawling around and playing with brian- gotta love that there was enough room for her to crawl on the floor!
tate made some friends and played cars on the plane- so perfect!
tate became fast friends with michael

getting a little sleepy again...
thank you air force!

  2. ok seriously! That is the COOLEST thing I've ever seen for traveling! I wish that when I go see my sister in florida with the kids this month that I could fly on a C-17 so the kids could run around and take a nap and stuff! How cool!! Maybe when Chris is done with residency he can join the airforce... hmmmm. Hope y'all have fun in TN!
