Let's move!

The packers arrived on time Tuesday June 23rd and quickly got to work-

AND I quickly got the kids out of the house, away from the packers, and delivered them to their best friends! It was SO tough to watch the kids say good-bye all week long...

Evan and Tate-

Evan moved in across the street at the beginning of the school year and he and Tate became FAST friends! They are another AF family and his mom, Kristin and I enjoyed lots of time together over the past year too.

Macy and Lucas-

Lucas is the son of our AF friends, Chris and Will Clark. They moved to California in 2012 and Macy and he just clicked. They were put in the same preschool class and the friendship began! While she thought Lucas could be a little wild and crazy and he even cut her hair once at school, she loved begin with him!

And then there was Vince-

He and Tate became best buddies in Kindergarten and had 3 years of friendship, sleepovers, playdates and an occasional principal office visit... Vince's family is also moving this summer, to Texas- and will hopefully be visiting us in DC next year!

Tuesday night we left our house and moved into the Temp. Living Facilities (TLF) on base-

And we could not have been happier! When you are moving, your life is in shambles. Pure chaos. You look around and everything is a mess, nothing is where it belongs. The house seems colder, or hotter, depending upon the season. And you realize how freaking dirty your house is! Checking into the TLF felt like a stay at the Ritz for us... It was like a small 2 bedroom apartment- that was clean, cool and organized! Heaven.

And they take dogs-

By the way, let me just say how amazed I am that once again, Belle and Stormy will be moving with us! North Carolina to Arkansas to California to Germany back to California and now to DC- wow! They are 11 years old and if you'd have asked me 3 years ago if they had another move in them, I'd have said no. Or at least "I hope not!" Just kidding, just kidding. While they do complicate the logistics of a move, and cause me to clean up dog poop and dog hair A LOT, I can't imagine not having them as part of our family just yet...

Our last week in Cali was filled with so many generous offers to feed us & watch/love our kids by so many friends and neighbors. We could not have gotten through such a wild week without all the help and support...
