Another awesome- and totally surprising- successful attempt at grilled pizza with homemade dough-
My office had a kids olympic competition, and Tate taught Macy how to use his compound bow to knock out her archery category-
While other things in our garden come and go- the basil has been giving and giving for a year now! It's almost as tall as Macy. I would really rather a bouquet of basil like this over a bouquet of flowers any day-
With all our new found unschedule time on our hands, it's been nice to get into the kitchen more. Hence the grilled pizza and homemade dough. Sushi. Sourdough bread. All the basil above was used to to make pesto, which I make often- but this time it was paired with homemade sweet potato gnocchi which Brian and I made together. And while time consuming, it was incredible. Even Tate was sad that there were no leftovers...
This year was the first year we harvest bananas from our very own trees! Each tree gives about 100 bananas, which we are happy to give to our staff, neighbors and friends. Here are our bananas-
One day Brian looked out the kitchen window and saw this guy-
A "naga kecil" or small dragon! Check out his long tail-
He will be in his room drawing, and they will just be chilling on the perch next to him!
The kids needed new bikes... and Brian found a store that was open by appointment only during the lockdown. So off they went to get new bikes. And Brian came home with another (#3...) also! The coolest thing was that he asked for them still in the box and unbuilt, because he wanted to teach the kids to build their bikes-
He is such a good dad! He deserves another bike. HA!
