May Matters

Time to get Sparky used to his crate before our flights next month-

A fun wine tasting of Greek wines at a local Greek restaurant-

Brian made this table from a wire spool to hold a wine chiller- how perfect is that?

Happy Mother's Day to me!

My creative husband also made himself a bike rack for his parking spot in the garage-
Hilarious.

For our friends Chris' birthday, we joined him and friends and went to a restaurant called Amuse Table- where it was 15 courses of Amuse Bouche's and the whole dinner was amazing-

Carina, Cerise, DreLyn and Macy the night before DreLyn moved-

Brittney found a swanky cocktail bar in Seoul with cats- so off we went. But we couldn't get to the cats- we could only watch them. Cocktails were amazing, but this was a close as we were going to get to cats there-

Such a nice reminder for me-

Date night for Macy-

This little boy lives in our neighborhood and is ADORABLE!

Brian & my May 4th outfits for the neighborhood wheelbarrow party-

Macy & Nora went to a painting cafe one day after school-

I don't think the variety of "cafes" here can ever end!

My friend Brittnay hosts clothing swap parties- or Naked Lady Parties, as they are called. She started hosting them about 10 years ago and wherever in the world she lives, she keeps the tradition alive. Usually it's an adult only party, but for this last one, her daughter Nora got to attend, along with Macy & another friend Emma, who's mom also frequently attends. It was so cute to have the next generation of Naked Ladies with us and Nora actually said "I've been waiting 10 years for this night to come!"

Coach Gleason is like no other. She is a teacher at the school and the kids cross country coach. And she is very cool in their eyes, and absolutely hilarious. I get why they all like her so much. She and Macy are especially close, and she is a wonderful mentor to her.

So when it was time to plan Tate's grad party, Fake Auntie Amy/Coach Gleason was for sure on the invite list- and the entire friend group was looking forward to hanging out with her outside of school! Then her son broke his leg the day of the party and she had to fly back to "America." She was so disappointed to miss the party.

Fast forward a week, Sunday night 8pm and our doorbell rings. Brian says "it's a woman, you get it" while we are all watching tv together in the living room. I go to the door and am shocked to see that it's Coach Gleason! She had just flown back and brought the kids  each a Chic Fil A sandwich- from America! Even kept them on ice during her flights- way better than our family has done. HA!

Best apology ever! What a wonderful surprise.

To celebrate Tate's last HS finals ever, I made this balloon countdown for him-

For each final he takes, he gets to pop the balloon until there are none left!

While walking Sparky, I had to stop and appreciate this beautiful green space on post. The clover flowers- both white and purple- were so lovely to see.

Tate's class photo is out- although can you find him?

Graduates can not decorate the top of their  caps for graduation, but you can buy a second one to personalize- so Tate did.

Lydia and I went out to dinner to celebrate MY last day of work!

When your friends have small kids, you meet them at the playground for happy hour and sit on the slide instead of the ground-

Rainy Sunday here and Bella is in Bali- so the girls facetime while Macy cleans & purges her room-

These two just cant get enough of each other. They have the sweetest friendship.

Macy went to an indoor surfing place with her friend Nora afterschool last week and LOVED it!

She thought it was going to be lame, but was pleasantly surprised. I think she just misses surfing.

This dog. On Macy's pillows, cuddled up with her "taggy" and just waiting for her to come home from school-
