Because of the robust opportunities on our enormous base, we did not often need to find things to do off base, which did not give us too many cultural experiences to participate in. So when Macy was asked to be a model in the on base fashion show as part of the annual Korean-American Friendship Week, I insisted she say yes. Knowing all things are more fun with friends, she invited Bella to join in too.
Unfortunately, it was an incredibly hot and humid day. There was not shade and it was just a miserable scorcher of a day. It was rough being a spectator diring the show, but so much worse for the models in all of their heavy gowns- and WIGS!

Watching this art demonstration was fascinating-
I think Macy was relieved when it was over, but looking back will always be glad she was part of this unique cultural experience.
