-I found a German tutor for Tate! We are so lucky to have a great German language program offered at our local high school. So I got in touch with the teacher, he recommended a 4th year student, her parents are both teachers and she visited Germany last summer! Her name is Hannah and she is coming once a week, for a hour. They are just playing, but must speak only German to each other. It is amazing- and sad how much German Tate has lost since we left 3 months ago

-went to my first PTA meeting tonight... I somehow avoided volunteering for anything!

-MY MOM IS STILL CANCER FREE! She got the results of her scans on tuesday and the doc was again shocked! So they are increasing her scan time from every 4 months to every 8 months now! In May, it will be 5 years since she was diagnosed...

-tomorrow we take off for our first stateside vacation! To Lake Tahoe for 8 days! Just the 4 of us, with no plans. We are using our timeshare, so we are staying at one of the monster resorts up there- hopefully lots of kid stuff and adult stuff too. The Tahoe food & wine festival starts tomorrow, I'm sure that will be our first stop! (and yes, Tate is missing school. It's only kindergarten, right? The teacher made us a huge packet of take home work...) This may be our easiest trip yet- no dogs to plan/prep for, NO DAIPERS, 2 hour drive and everyone speaks English!
