We left WV with full hearts and headed north, home to Connecticut. We had no insight yet on the England job, so our plan was to settle in CT for the foreseeable future.
We decided to take the scenic route, which would take us very close to Carlisle, PA. When I realized this, I sent Kyla a message and said "free for a visit? Be there in 2 hours!" And it worked! I hadn't seen Kyla since she left SK, 3 weeks after we arrived, so this visit would be a huge bonus to our summer trip!
We saw several Amish buggy's on the roads as we got close to Carlisle. What a treat!
Macy also looked out the window on the highway and saw the LL Bean boot vehicle pass by! How unique!
2 hours with Kyla is never enough. It was wonderful seeing what could likely be their forever house and knowing what life looks like for them now and maybe even forever!
The only thing missing from this pic is our Sparky- this is the family who rescued him!
Next up, Port Jervis NY, the town that Brian's dad grew up in. Again, another moment when we realized how close we were and decided to go. A quick message to his mom & sisters and we got the address of the house even!
Last time Brian was here he was 2 years old. We felt fortunate that when we drove up, the owner was outside. Brian explained why we were there and he welcomed Brian in to see the place newly renovated. BUT the owner then realized he had the wrong keys, so Brian was only able to peek inside the windows.

With a big blended family Sunday dinner even-

It's good to be HOME.
